|just ordered a sprint booster from Burtman Industries... lifted my truck, put on 33s, and 1.25 spacers , I have the v8 03 sr5 and was not thinning I was lacking on power at all- to be clear, but I drive like it like I stole it now because of that V8 power and if there’s a way to go faster why not, after reading the forum it looks like a lot of people didn’t know what they were missing and say they wouldn’t drive without one of these boosters so naturally my finger slipped and I just bought one. since I ordered it from Burtman I’m assuming it will be here before I’m done with this post lol, seriously they are super quick over there, so I’ll come back and give a full review. Thanks|
|This is my second Sprint Booster (Thanks Jason!) My first was a V2 SB that had 3 settings, off, street and race. Like another post here, I had mine on a tuned Mini Cooper with a 6 speed manual. The stock throttle response was crazy slow on the Mini especially when comparing it to the last "wired" throttle control car I had. It seriously transformed the feel and response in that vehicle making shifting much smoother and making quick acceleration feel as it should. The V3 SB on my 19 takes a major chunk out of the lethargic throttle response and the ability to have more adjustability on the newer version is really nice. I've been tweaking it here and there but for now I've kept it on the green 7 setting. I agree it's pricey, but since this is my daily driver, the SB is going to be the only modification I do to the engine since it really helps the driveability.|
|"Holy S#!T!", is what I said when I hit the throttle for the first time after installing this beauty in my 4runner yesterday.
Even after driving this for a few hours yesterday, I still said "WoW" when I hit the throttle the first time today.
Worth every penny!|
|So, I took a sip of the Kool-Aid. Then after installing I drank the whole pitcher. Like others have said the install takes all of about 15 minutes. The first ten of which are spent with the door open waiting for the CANBUS system to work itself out. I took this opportunity to find a spot for the controller. Once the truck sat for 10 minutes I used the Squeeze-Push-Pull method and the accelerator pedal connector popped right off. I have only driven for about and hour so far but I like what I am experiencing.
Before I would tell the truck "Go!" and it would respond "Okay. I hear what you are saying but let's put a pin in that thought and discuss other ideas we can try together". Now I tell the truck "Go!" and it responds "OK!". I started at Green 9 and for now have settled on Red 5. I jumped around a little between Red 5 and Red 9 but for now I will keep it on Red 5 and see how I feel after some more seat time.
The real test was letting the wife drive it and see her reaction and it passed the wife test with flying colors. I asked her to drive my truck to dinner tonight. After pulling out of the driveway and then taking off from the stop sign at the end of our street she says "What's wrong with your truck?" I responded "What do you mean 'what's wrong with it?" To which she said "It doesn't suck to drive anymore" Did Sprint Booster give me more horsepower? No, and I didn't expect it to. Did it dramatically change the driving experience? Absolutely.
|Ordered mine on Monday, it arrived on Wednesday...great shipping!
I installed it this evening, set to Green 9 and took a spin. WOW!! It really shines during part-throttle acceleration from cruising speed, e.g. passing, accelerating uphill. Also wakes things up during acceleration from dead stop, more of a positive launch when you put the pedal down than the factory buffered gradual throttle opening.
I dialed it back to Green 5 for errand-running just to get a feel for it, might try the Red settings after I get a good baseline.
Thanks for the great price, it was enough to pull me off the fence.||
