The secret is a foam labyrinth of tiny interlock cells coated with a flame-retardant, non-drying oil. Dirt is trapped in the sticky twists and turns of the maze, never to find its way to your engine. I just replaced my K&N with a Trueflow in my 2005 4.7. My concern was that the K&N was letting to much dirt into the engine. Since I just installed it this morning, I can't accurately comment on performance. I can say that the Trueflow fit like a glove in the airbox. There was some other folks on this board complainting of a tight fit but I had no problem. Just make sure you clean all of the excess oil from the filter before installing. I purchased my TrueFlow from Burtman - GREAT service!!
